Wonderful story. I very much liked the introspection, the sounds he could hear versus the sounds he could hear if he chose to, the difference between not hearing and not being allowed to hear. From no feeling/to too much/to the beginnings of recovery. Very well done.

Gorgeous. Wrenching, but absolutely well done to do so. You really had to *feel* for Daniel, even as he couldn't for himself. Thanks for sharing!
Also, you should know that this has shown up in Torchwood under the user wickedplotbunny, but someone is pointing it out on your behalf. Truly wonderful story though.
